Information requested:
1. Dates you wish to book accommodation. It's never too early to book as Liberty Lodge is extremely popular.
2. The Ship/Unit you served in during the Falklands Conflict.
3. Are you an individual Veteran or a group? If the latter, I will need to have all the names of your group and ask you to confirm that you are happy to be the Lead?
4. Once the dates have been agreed, I will send you a booking confirmation email. This will have all the information going forward, including how and when to book your MoD Sponsored Concessionary Flight, please note the flights can only be booked 6 months prior to your departure date.
5. NOK and family members are welcome, although they will need to pay for a full fare flight, which at present is £1566 return, a Falklands Veteran's flight is £248 return.
6. We do not charge anyone for staying at Liberty Lodge, it is run purely on donations and sponsorship.
The MoD have kindly agreed to continue the Concessionary Flight Scheme which allows holders of the South Atlantic Medal 1982 to fly on the Falklands Airbridge. This makes travelling to the Falkland Islands more affordable for veterans.
Flights leave RAF Brize Norton late night on Sundays and Wednesdays via Ascension Island taking 18 hours with a 2 hour stop over. The return flight departs the Falklands early on Tuesdays and Fridays landing in RAF Brize Norton the following morning.
Due to the very high winds there may be delays on the flights in either direction so a) do not book any flight knowing you HAVE to be back on time and b) keep an eye on the passenger information page at Brize Norton for up to date information
