The Falkland Islands consist of 2 large islands and 776 smaller ones. Whilst not all are inhabitated some do have catered and self catering lodges available for rent.
The Islands are abundant with creatures of all kinds. From cute baby penguins and lambs through to Elephant seals and Caracara
There are memorials all around the islands commemorating those who fought and died in the Falklands War in 1982. Join us in honouring their sacrifice for freedom.
The people of the Falkland Islands love to hear your stories, strike up a conversation, visit an event, hear what they went through during the war or explore life afterwards.
As the sun sets after your busy day exploring try the local eating out places. Or just fancy a quick coffee, sandwich and cake to fill that gap pop out and say hello in the cafe's.
Whether you visit the Museum, Cathedral or any of the other iconic attractions in Stanley, or just browse the stores for that perfect gift for home there is always something to see.
A place you can't miss whilst you are in Stanley. The museum has enthralling displays of the Islands history including of the 1982 war. The museum shop has some fantastic gifts and memorabilia for you to take home.
Better still, veterans get free entry. let them know on the door, sign the veterans book and enjoy.
Look out for the upcoming Lookout Gallery and Exhibition Hall which is currently in planning/fundraising stage. This will feature many fantastic displays including Sea Harriers, Seakings and the 1982 collection which is extensive.
A simple route designed to guide walkers to the summit of Sapper Hill via the fascinating whalebone display. For those with little tranport and no transport it is an ideal walk to get a great view of Stanley combined with a visit to 1982 memorials.
A circular trail including inland lakes and beautiful shorelines this 10km walk should take 2 - 2 1/2 hours beginning and ending at Eliza Cove
With ship wrecks, penguins, 1982 war memorials and glorious beaches this circular walk will take your breath away. Whilst the terrain can sometimes be challenging with soft sand and grass tussac around the scenery is stunning. This walk could take 1/2 to 1 day of your time
There are 6 recommended trails here. Trout Court, Scurvy Geass snug,Hells Kitchen, The Whale Way, Bodie Peak and Sussex Mountain and finally The trail of the Gauchos. With varying degrees of difficulty and timings they all offer a different experience whilst exploring the beautiful area.
